Suspect Arrested in Fatal Shooting of Two Elderly Men in Central Southwest Houston
Houston police have arrested Charles Ernest Lopez, 24, in connection with the fatal shooting of two men on June 27.
Lopez is charged with capital murder in the 487th State District Court.
The victims, Natanael Reyes, 68, and Guadalupe Flores, 74, were found shot multiple times on a walking trail at 14900 White Heather Drive in Central Southwest Houston around 5:45 a.m. Paramedics pronounced both men dead at the scene.
Investigators determined the victims walked the trail daily and were shot from behind. A suspect was seen fleeing in a white 4-door sedan.
On June 30, HPD located the vehicle and stopped it. Lopez, the only person inside, admitted to the shootings. He was arrested and charged.
