Roommate Sought in Fatal Stabbing in Liberty County

On Friday, June 20, 2025, at approximately 5:30 p.m., Liberty County Dispatch received a report of a stabbing on County Road 5007 in Cleveland.

Deputies arrived to find a 60-year-old male suffering from a stab wound to the face. EMS provided emergency care, and the victim was transported by Life Flight to HCA Hospital in critical condition. Despite medical efforts, the victim later died from his injuries.

Investigators with the Liberty County Sheriff’s Office, assisted by the Texas Department of Public Safety Rangers, determined that the incident stemmed from a physical altercation between the victim and his 52-year-old roommate, identified as Pedro Luis Rodriguez-Naranjo.

A search warrant executed at the residence uncovered evidence supporting the investigation. Authorities are now seeking Rodriguez-Naranjo, who was last seen fleeing the area in a black Mercedes passenger vehicle.

A murder warrant is being obtained. The victim’s name is being withheld pending next-of-kin notification.
