Justice Served: 99-Year Sentence for Child Sexual Assault in Montgomery County

A Montgomery County jury has sentenced Epifanio Adolfo Jimenez to 99 years in prison for the Aggravated Sexual Assault of a Child, a crime committed against a young family member on her 13th birthday in 2017. The lengthy sentence, delivered on April 30, 2025, aims to ensure Jimenez will never again have the opportunity to prey on vulnerable individuals.
Prosecutors Jamie Sulla and Jaime Wallace of the Montgomery County District Attorney’s Office began presenting the case on April 28, 2025. Jurors heard compelling and emotional testimony from a series of witnesses, including law enforcement officers, a school counselor, a forensic interviewer, a sexual assault nurse examiner, the brave young survivor herself, and a therapist.
The victim carried the secret of the violent assault for years, finally finding the strength to confide in her school counselor in 2022 after attending a “Teen Truth Assembly.”
Evidence presented during the trial also revealed Jimenez’s broader pattern of predatory behavior. A Sergeant with the Galveston Police Department testified that just one week after assaulting the victim, Jimenez was arrested during an undercover sting operation for Online Solicitation of a Minor, where he was communicating with someone he believed to be a 15-year-old child. Furthermore, while on probation out of Galveston County, Jimenez blatantly violated his terms by accessing online dating platforms and attempting to connect with single mothers to gain access to their children.
Following the guilty verdict, the punishment phase included powerful testimony from women who had survived Jimenez’s violence, including strangulation.
The State urged the jury to act to protect the women and children of Montgomery County from a man who “cannot stop and will not stop,” seeking justice for the survivor who will bear the scars of that brutal birthday for the rest of her life. The jury’s 99-year sentence ensures Jimenez’s lifetime incarceration.
The Montgomery County District Attorney’s Office expressed deep gratitude to the Ingleside Police Department, the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office, and the Galveston Police Department for their relentless dedication to the case. The office stated, “In Montgomery County, we do not forget our victims. We stand with them. We fight for them.”
