HARRIS COUNTY, Texas — A traffic stop on the Gulf Freeway turned into a brief pursuit that ended with two arrests and the seizure of a large quantity of cocaine, authorities said.

Deputies with Harris County Constable Jerry Garcia’s Office initiated the stop April 22, 2026, in the 8500 block of the Gulf Freeway after observing a vehicle swerving and committing multiple traffic violations.

During the stop, deputies contacted the driver and asked him to step out of the vehicle. While the deputy was speaking with him, the vehicle was suddenly placed into drive and sped away. Investigators said it appeared the passenger climbed into the driver’s seat and fled.

Additional deputies responded and initiated a pursuit.

Authorities said the fleeing vehicle struck two other vehicles before losing control and crashing into a fence in the 7800 block of the Gulf Freeway feeder road.

A felony stop was conducted, and the driver was taken into custody without further incident.

During the investigation, deputies discovered approximately 30 kilograms of bundled cocaine inside the vehicle, consistent with narcotics trafficking.

Officials identified the suspects as 46-year-old Natividad Loredo Jr. and 23-year-old Bryan Guevera.

Loredo was charged with felony manufacture and delivery of a controlled substance. Guevera faces charges of felony manufacture and delivery of a controlled substance and felony evading in a motor vehicle.

Authorities also said Loredo had multiple prior driving while intoxicated charges and an active federal probation violation warrant.

The investigation remains ongoing.
