17-Year-Old Killed in High-Speed Crash in El Paso; Three Others Injured

On November 18, 2024, El Paso Police Special Traffic Investigations responded to a fatal single-vehicle collision on the 7800 block of Alameda. Preliminary findings indicate that a red Chevy Cruz, traveling east at a high rate of speed, lost control after driving over standing water. The vehicle then crashed into a traffic signal pole at the intersection of Alameda and Riverside.

Seventeen-year-old Saul Adrian Bustillos was killed in the crash, while three other passengers—aged 16, 20, and 29—were injured and transported to a nearby hospital.

Authorities report that speed and wet road conditions were contributing factors to the incident. The crash marks the 62nd traffic fatality in El Paso this year, a decrease from the 71 fatalities recorded in 2023.
