Sweetwater Police Arrest Fugitive After Standoff
Salvador Hernandez

On the afternoon of June 7, 2025, Sweetwater Police officers apprehended Salvador Hernandez at a local residence following an extensive investigation. Hernandez, wanted on a parole violation warrant for possession with intent to deliver heroin, barricaded himself inside the home, leading to a standoff with law enforcement.

After multiple attempts to negotiate a peaceful surrender failed, officers secured a warrant and entered the property, arresting Hernandez without incident.

In addition to the parole violation, Hernandez now faces new felony charges from the Sweetwater Police Narcotics Unit, including Manufacturing/Delivery of a Controlled Substance and Engaging in Organized Criminal Activity.

“We are extremely proud of the officers of the Sweetwater Police Department for their commitment to locating and apprehending individuals who prey on our community and threaten the safety of our residents,” said Interim Chief Cory Stroman. “Our department remains committed to proactively reducing crime and ensuring Sweetwater stays a vibrant and secure community for all.”
