Woman Fatally Shot at West Gulf Bank Road Intersection in Northwest Houston

Authorities are actively investigating a fatal shooting incident that occurred at 7001 West Gulf Bank Road in northwest Houston around 1:40 a.m. on Saturday, January 20.

The victim, a 59-year-old woman, was fatally shot while in her car with a passenger at the intersection of West Gulf Bank Road and North Houston-Rosslyn Road. Preliminary reports suggest that a shot was fired from inside another vehicle, described as a silver Ford F-150 pickup truck. The victim was struck, and her female passenger, aged 55, escaped without injuries.

Following the incident, the victim’s car rolled through the intersection, crossed a curb, and collided with a dumpster in a nearby parking lot. Quick-thinking motorists passing by stopped to assist and immediately dialed 9-1-1. Houston Police Department patrol officers and Houston Fire Department paramedics arrived at the scene, where the woman was pronounced deceased.

As of now, the identity of the victim is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences. The motive behind the shooting remains unknown, and there is no available description of the suspect.
