Used Car Dealers Busted for $130K Lien Fraud Scheme; Three Arrested in Galveston County

Three individuals, the owners/operators of a used car dealership in Bacliff, Texas, have been arrested for engaging in organized criminal activity after a three-month investigation revealed they defrauded at least 15 people.
The Gulf Coast Auto Crimes Task Force (ACTF), with assistance from the League City Police Department and the Texas Department of Motor Vehicles, concluded the investigation on March 25, 2025, at the dealership located at 510 Grand Ave, Bacliff.
Investigators determined that Eduardo Delgadillo (37), Noraly Oropeza (35), and Daniel Delgadillo (19) knowingly sold vehicles to customers without disclosing existing liens on those vehicles. The Texas Department of Motor Vehicles valued the fraud at approximately $130,000.
All three individuals were arrested and charged with Engaging in Organized Criminal Activity, each with a bond of $100,000.
The Gulf Coast Auto Crimes Task Force is a multi-agency, multi-jurisdictional task force funded by the Motor Vehicle Crime Prevention Authority (MVCPA). Its members include the Galveston County Sheriff’s Office, Galveston Police Department, La Marque Police Department, and Brazoria County Sheriff’s Office. The task force conducts criminal investigations, crime prevention programs, and provides analytical support to law enforcement agencies in the region.
