Two in Custody After Lengthy Vehicle Pursuit in North San Angelo

Early Saturday morning, authorities apprehended a man and a woman following an extended vehicle pursuit in North San Angelo. Edward Crisp, 32, and Ashley Perez, 35, now face multiple charges related to the incident.

The sequence of events began when officers were called to the 3100 block of Travis Street regarding a suspicious vehicle. Upon locating the black Chevrolet Tahoe in the 300 block of East 32nd Street, officers attempted a traffic stop. The driver, identified as Edward Crisp, evaded the stop and led officers on a vehicle pursuit across the Northside of town.

For safety reasons, the pursuit was terminated as officers observed Crisp speeding on Sherwood Way without headlights. Crisp was later found near the intersection of Loop 306 and College Hills, where his vehicle had experienced a mechanical failure. Subsequently, officers took him into custody, charging him with offenses including evading arrest with a motor vehicle, parole violation warrant, county warrants, reckless driving, and failure to signal intent to turn.

Ashley Perez, the passenger, was also taken into custody after it was discovered she had a county warrant for her arrest. Fortunately, no private or city-owned property suffered damage during the pursuit.
