Travis County Man Convicted of Stalking

In a verdict delivered on Thursday, October 12, 2023, a Travis County jury found Rian Hoover, aged 46, guilty of Stalking. The trial of Mr. Hoover began with jury selection on Monday, October 9, 2023, followed by the commencement of testimony on Tuesday, October 10, 2023.

The charges against Mr. Hoover date back to June 28, 2021, when the Austin Police Department arrested him for offenses related to Stalking that occurred between February 14, 2020, and June 17, 2021. On April 5, 2022, Mr. Hoover was indicted for the offense of Stalking.

A judge is scheduled to sentence Mr. Hoover on November 9, 2023, following the jury’s conviction.
