Traffic Stop Results in Arrest of Houston Man on Warrant and Drug Charges in Shenandoah

On the morning of January 9, 2024, a routine traffic stop by Constable Ryan Gable’s Criminal Interdiction Unit (CIU) led to the arrest of 49-year-old Dennis Johnson Jr of Houston.

A CIU deputy observed a white Chevy 4-door with an equipment violation traveling northbound in the 19000 block of IH-45. After stopping the vehicle, the deputy made contact with the driver, Dennis Johnson Jr, and the passenger. Upon identification, it was discovered that Dennis Johnson Jr had an open warrant for his arrest issued by Harris County.

The warrant was related to charges of Terroristic Threat. Additionally, during the course of the arrest, the CIU deputy found a controlled substance in Dennis Johnson Jr’s pocket, leading to an additional charge of Possession of a Controlled Substance.

Following the arrest, the vehicle was released to the passenger, and Dennis Johnson Jr was transported to the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office jail.
