Shoplifting Suspect Apprehended at Kuykendahl Road Walmart with Open Felony Warrant

On January 6, 2024, deputies from Constable Mark Herman’s Office swiftly responded to a reported theft at the Walmart situated in the 21100 block of Kuykendahl Road. The suspect, identified as 33-year-old Gilbert Jerry Ortiz, was apprehended by law enforcement while attempting to shoplift.

Upon further investigation, it was discovered that Ortiz had an outstanding open felony warrant issued by Harris County for Possession of a Controlled Substance. In accordance with the warrant, Gilbert Ortiz was taken into custody by the deputies and subsequently booked into the Harris County Jail.

The bond for Ortiz has been set at $2,500.00 by the 248th District Court.
