Three Teen Suspects Arrested in Connection with 2023 Death on Martin Luther King Boulevard

Three suspects have been arrested in connection with the death of a male found at 7909 Martin Luther King Boulevard on August 7, 2023. Gavin Kemani Paul, 17, faces capital murder charges in the 232nd State District Court. Two other suspects, both juveniles aged 16 at the time, have been referred to Harris County Juvenile Probation authorities on similar charges.

The victim, Dexter Watson, 27, was discovered unresponsive at a bus stop by METRO Police Department officers. Paramedics pronounced him deceased. Investigators found an injury consistent with a gunshot or puncture wound. The cause of death is awaiting confirmation through an autopsy.

At the time of the incident, there was no known motive or suspect(s). However, further investigation led to the arrest of Paul and the two juveniles, all of whom were charged for their alleged roles in the crime.
