Third Suspect Arrested, Capital Murder Charges Filed in Odessa Killing of 8-Year-Old

The Odessa Police Department has filed Capital Murder charges against three individuals in connection with the shooting death of an 8-year-old boy. Officers initially responded to a shooting in the 1000 block of West Monahans on April 7, 2025, where they found the child with a gunshot wound to his head. The child succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased this morning in Lubbock, Texas.
Over the past week, investigators conducted numerous interviews and gathered evidence across Ector and Midland Counties, leading to the arrests of three suspects. Anthony Ramon and Santos Roman, both 24 years old, were arrested on April 7th in connection with the shooting. Following a thorough investigation, 22-year-old Keemadrick Sauls has also been arrested for his role in the incident.
All three suspects were initially charged with Injury to a Child (F1), three counts of Aggravated Assault (F2), and one count of Deadly Conduct (F3). These charges have now been upgraded to Capital Murder.
