Texas Medical Board Suspends Houston Doctor’s License Over Patient Safety Concerns

HOUSTON, Texas — The Texas Medical Board has temporarily suspended the medical license of an 84-year-old Houston physician after determining his continued practice poses a threat to public welfare, officials said.
Rodolfo Garma Giraldi, M.D., had his license suspended effective immediately following a disciplinary panel decision. The board cited allegations that Giraldi aided or abetted the unlicensed practice of medicine, deviated from the standard of care involving 10 patients, and committed violations related to medical recordkeeping.
According to the Houston Police Department, Giraldi owned and operated Houston Aesthetic Center, where an unlicensed surgical assistant allegedly performed cosmetic procedures that resulted in injuries to patients.
Court records indicate Giraldi was charged with a felony in 2024. Authorities allege he assisted in the unlicensed practice of medicine, which caused physical and psychological harm to three women between March 2022 and Oct. 7, 2023.
The temporary suspension will remain in effect pending further action by the Texas Medical Board.
