Texas 10 Most Wanted Offender Linked to Double Homicide in East Texas Arrested in San Bernardino, California

A Texas 10 Most Wanted offender, Alvin Charles McKnight Jr., 41, affiliated with the 52 Hoover Crips gang, has been apprehended in San Bernardino, Calif., on Nov. 15. The arrest, carried out by officers from the San Bernardino Police Department, involved collaboration from various law enforcement agencies, including the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) Criminal Investigations Division (CID), Texas Rangers, Upshur County Sheriff’s Office, Longview Police Department, Gladewater Police Department, and the U.S. Marshals Service.

The arrest follows a multi-agency fugitive investigation initiated after a shooting incident on the night of Nov. 4, 2023. Responding to a report of gunfire at a residence in the 2800 block of U.S. Highway 271 South, near Gilmer, Upshur County Deputies, Gilmer Police Officers, and DPS Troopers arrived just after 11:30 PM. Upon reaching the scene, deputies discovered two individuals deceased from apparent gunshot wounds.

In response to the incident, the Upshur County Sheriff’s Office issued a capital murder warrant for Alvin Charles McKnight Jr. the following day, linking him to the double homicide. A Crime Stoppers reward is slated to be paid in connection with McKnight’s arrest.
