suspect wanted in connection with two fatal shootings that occurred on August 18 has been identified and charged by authorities. The suspect, Rafael Antonio Hernandez Gonzalez, 42, has been charged with capital murder in the 482nd State District Court. Hernandez Gonzalez is currently not in custody, and authorities are seeking information from the public to locate him.

The incidents took place at two separate locations in the early hours of August 18. The first victim, Josue Geovanni Argueta Giron, 45, was shot multiple times while loading tools into his SUV at his residence on 10235 Grove Glen Drive around 6:35 a.m. Mr. Argueta Giron was pronounced dead at the scene. At the time, the suspect was described only as a Hispanic male, possibly driving a dark-colored SUV.

Further investigation revealed that Hernandez Gonzalez, who was an employee of Argueta Giron and had a long-standing acquaintance with him, was the prime suspect in this case. On August 20, Hernandez Gonzalez was charged with murder in connection with the fatal shooting of Argueta Giron.

Approximately an hour before the shooting on Grove Glen Drive, at around 5:45 a.m., Hernandez Gonzalez was at his residence on 10200 West Bellfort Boulevard. There, he fatally shot Wendy Guadalupe Guzman, 21, as she was preparing for work. Following this incident, Hernandez Gonzalez proceeded to the location on Grove Glen Drive and shot Argueta Giron. He fled the scene in his GMC Yukon, which has since been recovered by authorities.

Due to his involvement in both fatal shootings, the charge against Hernandez Gonzalez was elevated to capital murder (multiple) on August 24. Despite efforts by law enforcement, Hernandez Gonzalez remains at large. Investigators suspect he may have altered his appearance by shaving his head. He is described as approximately 5 feet 5 inches tall and weighing about 160 pounds.

Authorities are urging anyone with information about the whereabouts of Rafael Antonio Hernandez Gonzalez, also known as “Rafa,” to contact the Houston Police Department Homicide Division at 713-308-3600. Anonymous tips can also be provided to Crime Stoppers at 713-222-TIPS.
