Suspect Arrested in Houston Fatal Shooting at Grassmere Street
Charges have been filed against a suspect arrested in the fatal shooting of a man at 3701 Grassmere Street about 1:30 p.m. on Monday (Sept. 11).
The suspect, DaMarcus Williams, 30, is charged with murder in the 263rd State District Court. A booking photo of Williams is attached to this news release.
The identity of the victim, 34, is pending notification to family members by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
HPD Homicide Division Detectives J. Brown and M. Condon reported:
HPD patrol officers responded to a shooting call outside the residence at the above address and found an unresponsive man lying on the ground. Officers learned the victim had suffered a gunshot wound. Houston Fire Department pronounced him deceased at the scene.
Officers learned that Williams, the victim’s brother, was the suspect in this incident. He was detained at the scene, questioned and charged for his role in the shooting.
