Suspect Arrested in Fatal Shooting of 19-year-old at Westheimer Road

Charges have been filed against a suspect arrested in the fatal shooting of a woman at 9407 Westheimer Road about 6:30 a.m. on Jan. 29.

The suspect, Ivan Livingston, 21, is charged with aggravated assault in the 262nd State District Court. A booking photo of Livingston is attached to this news release.

He is accused in the death of Treasure Burton, 19.

HPD Homicide Division Detectives C. Sharp and E. May reported:

Officers were dispatched to a shooting call in the 9400 block of Westheimer Road and observed the unresponsive victim with a gunshot wound.  Houston Fire Department paramedics transported the woman to an area hospital where she was pronounced deceased.

Detectives learned the victim was struck while inside of a vehicle near the intersection of Westheimer Road at Fondren Road. 

Further investigation identified Livingston as the suspect in the shooting. He was subsequently arrested and charged on Friday (May 19).
