Victim of Robbery Shoots and Kills Suspect at Louisiana Street

The fatal shooting of a male at 3201 Louisiana Street that occurred about 3 p.m. on Saturday (May 20) will be referred to a Harris County grand jury.

The identity of the deceased male, is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

HPD Homicide Division Investigator A. Ledford reported:

Officers responded to a report of a shooting in the parking lot of the above address. Upon arrival they found the male had suffered a gunshot wound and was pronounced dead at the scene by responding Houston Fire Department paramedics.

The male shooter, 55, stated he was in his car when the deceased male opened his car door, brandished a knife and attempted to rob the male. The robbery victim then fired one shot, striking the suspect.  The male then attempted to perform life saving measures until paramedics arrived.

The facts and circumstances of this case will be referred to the Harris County grand jury.
