Suspect Arrested in August 2024 Fatal Shooting Near Houston Bus Stop
Houston police have arrested Ellender Green, 45, in connection with the fatal shooting of Jeremiah Standokes, 49, who was found dead near a transit bus stop at 7900 Sunbury Street on August 27, 2024.
Green, also known as “Pinky,” is charged with murder in the 177th State District Court.
Officers responded to the scene around 6 a.m. after receiving a report of a deceased person. Houston Fire Department paramedics arrived and pronounced Standokes dead from gunshot wounds. At the time, there were no known witnesses or suspects.
Following an investigation, Green was identified as a suspect, and a warrant was issued for her arrest. On January 30, officers from the HPD Narcotics Tactical Team arrested Green on an unrelated felony warrant. During questioning, Green admitted to her role in Standokes’ death.
She was booked into the Harris County Jail, and charges were formally filed through the Harris County District Attorney’s Office.
