Suspect Arrested for Firearm Theft from Vehicle at Friendswood Public Works Facility

On Wednesday, October 2, Friendswood police responded to a report of a Burglary of a Motor Vehicle at the City of Friendswood Public Works facility in the 15300 block of Blackhawk Boulevard. An employee reported that a firearm had been stolen from their vehicle between 7:30 a.m. and 5:30 p.m.

Officers reviewed video footage and identified a suspect and vehicle connected to the burglary. Detectives later located the suspect’s vehicle at a motel in south Houston. The suspect, identified as 22-year-old Juston Smith of Houston, was found to have an extensive criminal history and felony warrants from Harris and Brazoria Counties.

The Harris County District Attorney’s Office accepted felony charges for Theft of a Firearm against Smith. Detectives recovered the stolen firearm and returned it to its owner.
