South Texas SWAT Bust Nets Nearly Half a Kilogram of Cocaine, Man Arrested in San Benito

SAN BENITO, Texas – On Thursday, January 8, 2026, at approximately 3:30 p.m., the San Benito Police Department SWAT team in South Texas, assisted by the Cameron County Sheriff’s Office SWAT team, executed a narcotics search warrant on the 700 block of North Sam Houston Street.

During the operation, Victor Hernandez Jr. was taken into custody for allegedly selling narcotics from the residence. Investigators seized:

  • 480 grams of cocaine
  • 30 grams of clonazepam
  • 0.2 ounces of marijuana

Hernandez faces multiple charges, including Manufacturing and Delivering a Controlled Substance (cocaine), a first-degree felony; Possession of a Controlled Substance in Penalty Group 3 (clonazepam), a third-degree felony; and Possession of Marijuana under 2 ounces, a Class B misdemeanor.

He was arraigned and received the following bonds: $100,000 for the cocaine charge, $75,000 for the clonazepam charge, and $20,000 for the marijuana possession.
