Shoplifting Suspect Arrested: Woman Apprehended After Struggle with Deputies

On December 2, 2023, deputies from Constable Mark Herman’s Office responded to a shoplifting incident at a business in the 21600 block of Kuykendahl Road in Spring, Texas. Upon arrival, the deputies confronted a suspect who, identified as 30-year-old Ashtan Wright, resisted compliance with verbal commands. Following a brief struggle, the deputies successfully apprehended her.

Ashtan Wright was found in possession of stolen merchandise valued at $189.96 before taxes. Subsequent investigation uncovered that she was currently out on a $20,000.00 bond related to a prior charge of Possession of a Controlled Substance.

As a result of the shoplifting incident, Wright was arrested and booked into the Harris County Jail on charges of Theft and Interfering with the Duties of a Public Servant. Her total bond was set at $1,000.00 out of County Court 3.
