Traffic Stop in Harris County Leads to Arrest for DWI; Woman Passenger Arrested for Impersonating Police Officer
Ashia Tillis and Jesse Williams

On December 3, 2023, deputies from Constable Mark Herman’s Office carried out a routine traffic stop in the 16000 block of Pebble Bend Drive in Northwest Houston. The driver, identified as 39-year-old Jesse Williams, was stopped after displaying signs of intoxication.

Upon contact, Williams declined to perform Standardized Field Sobriety Tests and was subsequently detained for further investigation. A breath sample later revealed blood alcohol concentrations (BAC) of 0.139 and 0.140.

During the stop, the passenger in the vehicle, identified as 27-year-old Ashia Tillis, identified herself as a police officer in an attempt to influence the direction of the investigation. The Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office in Conroe has a Detention Officer named Ashia Tillis, but it is unclear at this time if this is the same person.

Both individuals, Williams and Tillis, were arrested at the scene and later booked into the Harris County Jail. Williams faces charges of Driving While Intoxicated and has been issued a $100.00 bond out of County Court 13. Meanwhile, Tillis has been charged with Impersonating a Police Officer, and her bond has been set at $10,000.00. The legal proceedings will follow due process in Harris County.
