Shooting at Pearland Flea Market: One Dead, Four Injured; Manhunt Underway for Suspect

On Sunday, November 12, 2023, tragedy struck at Cole’s Flea Market in Pearland, Brazoria County, Texas, as gunfire erupted, leaving one child dead and four others injured. The incident occurred around 5:34 P.M., prompting a response from Pearland Police Officers.

The victims include a 10-year-old Hispanic male who was pronounced dead at the hospital, a 14-year-old Hispanic female, a 37-year-old Hispanic male, a 16-year-old Hispanic male, and an 18-year-old Hispanic male. All were rushed to nearby hospitals for treatment.

Preliminary investigations suggest that an altercation involving two Hispanic male subjects led to the discharge of at least two handguns. The exact number of rounds fired is yet to be determined. Tragically, the 10-year-old, 14-year-old, and 37-year-old victims were innocent bystanders caught in the crossfire.

Investigators are actively working to establish the involvement of the 16-year-old and 18-year-old victims in the altercation.

An arrest warrant has been issued for 19-year-old David Negrete on charges of Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon. Mr. Negrete is considered armed and dangerous. In collaboration between Governor Greg Abbott’s Office and Brazoria County Crime Stoppers, a $15,000.00 reward has been announced for information leading to the arrest and capture of Mr. Negrete.
