The initial suspect, Chase Franklin Williams, 18, was taken into custody earlier and charged with capital murder and aggravated assault with a deadly weapon in the 338th State District Court.

The charges against both suspects stem from their alleged involvement in the tragic incident that resulted in the deaths of Reginald Reed, 58, and Brandon Forbes, 23, and left a 32-year-old man wounded.

According to the Houston Police Department Homicide Division, officers responded to a shooting call on February 4 at 14110 Buffalo Speedway, where they discovered Brandon Forbes unresponsive in the median of the road. He had sustained gunshot wounds and was subsequently pronounced deceased by Houston Fire Department paramedics. Officers then received information about another shooting that occurred nearby at 14137 Fleetwell Drive.

Upon arrival at Fleetwell Drive, officers found Reginald Reed unresponsive on the front porch of a residence. Paramedics also pronounced him deceased due to gunshot wounds. Additionally, officers encountered a third victim who reported being shot at the same location. This individual was transported to a local hospital in stable condition.

Further investigation led to the identification of Chase Franklin Williams as the initial suspect, resulting in his arrest and charges on February 6.

Subsequent inquiries into the case led to the identification of Markeith Eric Simpson as a second suspect. On August 30, Simpson was taken into custody and charged for his alleged involvement in the incident. He has since been booked into the Harris County Jail.
