Police Investigate Southwest Houston Fatal Crash That Killed 14-year-old Female

Houston police are currently investigating a tragic fatal crash that occurred at 5400 West Bellfort Avenue on Saturday, November 4, at approximately 1:50 p.m.

The identity of the deceased victim, a 14-year-old female, is awaiting verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences. The incident unfolded as a gray Nissan Rogue was heading eastbound near the above-mentioned location, approaching the intersection of Burdine Street. Simultaneously, a silver Chevrolet Malibu was traveling westbound on West Bellfort and, after stopping at a sign, was turning left onto the 11300 block of Burdine Street.

The collision ensued when the Nissan struck the Chevrolet, causing the Nissan to veer off the roadway and collide with several trees near the scene. Tragically, a 14-year-old juvenile female passenger in the Nissan was rushed to a local hospital by responding Houston Fire Department paramedics, where she was sadly pronounced deceased. The 17-year-old driver of the Nissan and four additional juvenile passengers were also transported to an area hospital with minor injuries. The 70-year-old driver of the Chevrolet was similarly transported to a local hospital.

As of now, no charges have been filed, and the investigation remains ongoing.
