Pedestrian Fatality Investigated on State Highway 6 South

Houston Police are investigating a fatal crash that happened on Saturday, March 9, at around 2:40 a.m. The incident occurred at 1700 State Highway 6 South.

A 22-year-old male pedestrian, whose identity is pending notification to family members by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences, was struck by a silver Toyota Highlander. The pedestrian was crossing the street at the mentioned location, which did not have a crosswalk at the time of the incident. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the Toyota, also 22 years old, remained at the scene. Authorities stated that the driver did not display any signs of intoxication. After being questioned, the driver was released.

The investigation into the crash is still ongoing.
