Odessa Police Arrest Couple After Apartment Shooting, Uncover Drugs, and Stolen Firearms
On January 9, 2024, at approximately 11:48 pm, Odessa Police Officers responded to a report of shots fired at 2950 Pleasant. Witnesses stated that multiple shots were heard coming from an apartment at the Westwood Square Apartments. Upon arrival, officers discovered a broken window and a fallen mesh screen at the specified apartment.
24-year-old Pamela Melendez, the occupant of the apartment, informed officers that her boyfriend, 23-year-old Isaac Beseril, had discharged multiple rounds. Beseril was later found in the 2200 block of Catalina Dr. and was uncooperative with law enforcement. Upon his apprehension, Beseril was found to be in possession of marijuana and a firearm.
A subsequent search warrant for the Westwood Square Apartment revealed a bullet hole in the closet, penetrating the adjacent apartment where occupants were sleeping. In addition to this, officers discovered 7.6 pounds of marijuana, 21.7 grams of THC, 10.2 grams of ecstasy, and MDMA pills inside the residence. Nine firearms were also found, including two stolen guns and one with a removed serial number.
As a result of the investigation, both Melendez and Beseril were arrested and transported to the Ector County Law Enforcement Center.
Charges against Beseril include Possession of a Controlled Substance, Deadly Conduct Discharge Firearm, Possession of Marijuana, Theft of a Firearm, Tamper with Identification Numbers, Unlawful Carrying of a Weapon, and Discharge a Firearm in Certain Municipalities. Melendez faces charges of Possession of a Controlled Substance, Possession of Marijuana, Theft of a Firearm, and Tamper with Identification Numbers.
