Multiple Arrests Made in Brookshire Drug Raid: Cocaine, Firearms Seized
Members of the Austin County Regional Special Response Team carried out a series of arrests and searches in Brookshire, Texas, early Wednesday morning, March 6, 2024. The operation, which took place around 5:00AM, was conducted at a residence situated in the 4000 Block of Second Street. It was prompted by an ongoing narcotics investigation led by the Westside Narcotics Task Force.
The Task Force, comprising officers from various law enforcement agencies, had been probing reports of drug distribution activities linked to the targeted residence. As a result of the operation, two individuals, identified as Jonte Grant (47) and Andre Grant (49), were apprehended without any resistance.
During the search of the premises, authorities seized quantities of cocaine, firearms, and a sum of United States currency. Charges related to the Manufacture and/or Delivery of a Controlled Substance PG 1 (Drug Free Zone) were filed against all defendants. Additionally, Andre Grant faces additional charges of felon in possession of a firearm and theft of a firearm. Following their arrests, the defendants were taken to the Waller County Jail without any issues.
The Westside Narcotics Task Force, covering a jurisdiction spanning four counties, is comprised of investigators from several local law enforcement agencies including the Austin County Sheriff’s Office, Bellville PD, Sealy PD, Hempstead PD, Waller County Sheriff’s Office, Fayette County Sheriff’s Office, Colorado County Sheriff’s Office, and the United States Drug Enforcement Administration.
The Brookshire Police Department and the Waller County Sheriff’s Office provided assistance during the arrest and search warrant operation.
