Multi-Agency Operation Leads to Arrests in Kidnapping Case in Travis County
On January 26, 2024, the Travis County Sheriff’s Office (TCSO) responded to a distressing report of a kidnapping in the 14200 block of FM 969. The victim had suffered severe injuries, including being beaten and shot, and a ransom was demanded. Eventually, the victim was abandoned on the side of a road in critical condition.
Since then, TCSO Detectives have been working tirelessly on the case, gradually building a list of suspects. Their efforts culminated in a significant breakthrough on March 7, 2024, when search and arrest warrants were executed at two locations in Travis County and one location in Dallas, Texas.
As a result of these operations, two individuals have been apprehended: Luis Montemayor, 56, from Dallas, and Alyxandra Martinez, 33, from Austin. Both face charges of Aggravated Kidnapping with Bodily Injury, Aggravated Kidnapping for Ransom, and Engaging in Organized Criminal Activity, all of which are first-degree felonies. Additionally, Eugene Tae, 36, from Austin, who was already in custody at the Travis County Correctional Complex, has had Engaging in Organized Criminal Activity added to his charges.
A significant amount of evidence was collected during the searches, including 19 pistols, 1 revolver, 16 long guns, ammunition, 3 kilograms of crystal methamphetamine, over $12,000 in cash, stolen credit/debit cards, stolen electronic devices, and one stolen vehicle.
Despite these arrests and seizures, the case remains open as detectives continue to investigate whether additional suspects were involved.
The successful operation was made possible through the collaborative efforts of multiple law enforcement agencies. The response team included TCSO SWAT, TCSO VICE, TCSO Special Response Team, APD SWAT, Dallas PD, Dallas PD SWAT, Central Texas Regional SWAT, DEA, FBI, APD-ATF, APD-OCD, US Postal Inspector, and the Sheriff’s Combined Auto Theft Task Force.
