Montgomery County Man Sentenced to 30 Years for Stabbing Wife Multiple Times

A Montgomery County man has been sentenced to 30 years in prison after pleading guilty to a violent family violence attack that left his wife with multiple stab wounds.
Lance Michael Campbell, 39, pleaded guilty to aggravated assault with a deadly weapon causing serious bodily injury involving family violence and was sentenced by Kathleen Hamilton on May 13, 2026.
The case was prosecuted by Assistant District Attorneys Mary Garcia and Victor Jarvis.
According to investigators, deputies with the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office responded to a family violence call on Dec. 5, 2023, involving Campbell and his wife.
When deputies arrived, they learned Campbell had allegedly stabbed the victim multiple times with a butcher knife while the couple’s five-month-old son was inside the home.
Authorities said the victim suffered numerous injuries, including stab wounds to her palm, wrist, forehead, chin, and a deep gash across her neck.
Deputies detained Campbell at the scene without further incident. The infant child was not physically injured.
“Family violence cases are often deeply complicated for victims and families, but the severity of this attack could not be overlooked,” Garcia said. “The victim showed tremendous courage throughout this process, and this sentence ensures accountability for an act of extreme violence while recognizing the lasting trauma caused by these offenses.”
Mike Holley said the case highlights the devastating impact of violent domestic assaults.
“Violent family assaults leave lasting physical and emotional scars that extend far beyond a single moment,” Holley said. “This defendant repeatedly stabbed the victim inside her own home while their infant child was present. That level of violence demands serious consequences. Our office will continue standing with victims, protecting families, and aggressively prosecuting those who commit violent crimes in Montgomery County.”
Campbell will serve his sentence in the Texas Department of Criminal Justice.
