Robert C. Borwell IV

On May 20th, 2024, Montgomery County Constable Ryan Gable’s Deputies responded to a disturbance involving aggressive dogs in the Legends Run Subdivision. During their response, the Deputies observed the dogs entering a residence with its front door open. Concerned for potential victims, they attempted a welfare check and discovered narcotics and drug paraphernalia inside the residence, including what appeared to be a marijuana grow operation in the living room.

This discovery prompted a narcotics investigation, with Deputies contacting the Precinct 3 Criminal Investigations Division. Precinct 3 Detectives arrived on the scene and obtained a search warrant for the residence. During the search, they found significant amounts of illegal substances:

  • Felony Amount of Marijuana: 6.1 pounds
  • Felony Amount of Psilocybin-Mushrooms: 490 grams
  • Felony Amount THC Wax: Approximately 112 ounces
  • Xanax: 14 grams

Additionally, detectives collected mushroom spore prints on cards covered with aluminum foil, suggesting an intention to grow more mushrooms. The homeowner, Robert Borwell, arrived at the residence and was subsequently arrested on multiple counts of Manufacture and Delivery of a Controlled Substance, relating to Penalty Group 2 and Penalty Group 2A substances.

Montgomery County Animal Services were also notified to assist with the aggressive dogs.
