Man on Bicycle Robbed Two Smoke Shops at Knifepoint for Kratom, Deputies Say
Tyler Williams arrested

Deputies with Constable Mark Herman’s Office have arrested a man accused of robbing two smoke shops at knifepoint and fleeing the scenes on a bicycle with large amounts of Kratom tablets.

On April 27, 2025, deputies responded to the Vitrum Smoke Shop located at 15000 Mason Road after an aggravated robbery was reported. The complainant told deputies that a white male suspect entered the store, brandished a knife, and stole Kratom tablets before fleeing southbound on a bicycle.

Three days later, on April 30, deputies were dispatched to a similar robbery at another smoke shop located at 27000 Northwest Freeway. In that case, the suspect again used a knife and made off with Kratom tablets.

Following an investigation on May 1, deputies identified the suspect as 37-year-old Tyler Williams. During questioning, Williams provided a full confession and surrendered the knife used in both robberies. Authorities recovered several hundred dollars worth of Kratom tablets from his residence, which will be returned to the affected businesses.

Tyler Williams was arrested and booked into the Harris County Jail. He is charged with two counts of Aggravated Robbery with a Deadly Weapon. Bond and court details have not yet been released.
