Dayton Man Sentenced to Life in Prison for 2020 Double Bayou Murder

Thomas Andrew Daigle of Dayton, Texas, was sentenced today to life in prison for the murder of Scott Privat in the Double Bayou area of Chambers County in 2020, according to Chambers County Sheriff Brian Hawthorne.

Daigle’s sentencing follows his arrest and detention on July 7, 2020.

Sheriff Hawthorne acknowledged the efforts of the Chambers County District Attorney’s Office, led by Cheryl Lieck, and the Sheriff’s Office investigators in pursuing the case.

“Our office is proud to work alongside dedicated prosecutors and members of the judiciary who understand the importance of holding violent criminals accountable,” stated Sheriff Hawthorne in a released statement. He also extended his appreciation to District Attorney Lieck and her team for their work on behalf of Scott Privat and his family.
