Man Assaults Woman Over Barking Dogs, Threatens Deputy’s Life in North Houston Incident

On May 26, 2024, Harris County deputies from Constable Mark Herman’s Office responded to a disturbance at Excelsior on the Park Apartments, located in the 14400 block of Ella Blvd in North Houston. Upon arrival, deputies detained the suspect, identified as Husam Alkahtani.

Investigations revealed that Alkahtani had banged on his neighbor’s door and forced his way in when she opened it. He then began yelling at her about her barking dogs and assaulted her. A male bystander, hearing the commotion, intervened and removed Alkahtani from the apartment after a brief struggle. During the incident, Alkahtani yelled racial slurs at them.

Alkahtani also repeatedly threatened to kill the arresting Constable Deputy and his family.

Husam Alkahtani was arrested and booked into the Harris County Jail. He has been charged with Burglary of a Habitation and Retaliation. His total bond is set at $65,000 by the 351st District Court.
