Industrial Accident Claims Life of 16-Year-Old in Magnolia

An industrial accident occurred on May 28, 2024, around 12:25 PM at the 33000 block of Willow Heights Lane in Magnolia, prompting a response from the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office. The incident involved a home under construction collapsing during a thunderstorm while workers were on site.

Preliminary investigations revealed that workers noticed the house shifting during the storm, with most managing to exit before the collapse, except for one individual. First responders located the trapped individual, a 16-year-old juvenile male, who was pronounced deceased at the scene. The juvenile male was confirmed to be an employee of the construction company and was authorized to be on site.

The Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office Homicide and Violent Crimes Unit, along with Crime Scene, are conducting an investigation at the location, in accordance with Sheriff’s Office policy for all Fatal Industrial Accidents. Although no criminal element is suspected, an autopsy will be conducted at the Montgomery County Forensics Center.
