Man Arrested in Connection with April Fatal Shooting at Convenience Store in Houston
Ortazuis Collins, 48, has been arrested and charged in connection with the fatal shooting of 49-year-old Ronnie Hackett on April 29, 2024, at 7915 De Priest Street. The shooting occurred at approximately 3:45 a.m. in the parking lot of a convenience store, where Hackett was found suffering from a gunshot wound. Despite efforts from paramedics, Hackett was later pronounced dead at a local hospital.
Collins faces charges of murder and unlawful possession of a firearm by a felon. Following a detailed investigation, he was identified as the suspect. On Thursday, November 14, Collins was apprehended by officers with the Gulf Coast Task Force in Fulshear, Texas. He was booked into the Harris County Jail following his arrest.
