Man Arrested for Recording Female in Bathroom Stall

On January 21, 2024, deputies from Constable Mark Herman’s Office were dispatched to the 1100 block of North Plaza East in response to a disturbance.

Upon their arrival, an investigation uncovered that a suspect, 37-year-old Jaaciel Cruz, had placed a cellular phone under a bathroom door, recording a female occupant.

Cruz was subsequently arrested and taken into custody. He has been charged with Invasive Visual Recording and has been booked into the Harris County Jail. The bond for Cruz has been set at $10,000.00 by the 263rd District Court.
