Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office Addresses Animal Cruelty Allegations at Calico Dairy Farm

The Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office is actively addressing animal cruelty allegations at Calico Dairy Farm in Conroe, TX. Livestock Specialists began an investigation in December 2023 after distressing images of livestock in poor conditions surfaced on social media. Multiple follow-up investigations have been conducted, including one today.

It’s crucial to note that many circulating photos are old and have resurfaced. Our investigation indicates that injuries seen in the pictures were already being treated by a licensed veterinarian before law enforcement intervention.

Despite this, an ongoing animal cruelty investigation is in progress. We’ve collaborated with the Texas Animal Health Commission, which has regulatory jurisdiction, to examine conditions inside the dairy barn, especially regarding products intended for human consumption.
