Man Arrested for Murder at Houston Behavioral Healthcare Hospital
A suspect has been arrested in connection with the death of a man at 2801 Gessner Road on Wednesday afternoon. Erik Daniel Bonito, 31, faces charges of murder following the incident.
The victim, a 26-year-old whose identity is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences, was assaulted in a room at the Houston Behavioral Healthcare Hospital, a psychiatric facility located in the Spring Branch North area.
Houston Police Department patrol officers responded to an assault call and discovered that Bonito was the alleged assailant.
Emergency medical services rushed the victim to a nearby hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
Subsequent investigation revealed that Bonito had assaulted the victim, leading to his arrest at the scene. He was later charged and transported to the Harris County Jail.
