Driver Dead in Crash Against Train in Central Southwest Houston

Houston police are currently investigating a fatal crash that occurred at 13100 Almeda Road in Central Southwest Houston around 4:45 p.m. on Tuesday, February 20.

The incident involved a gray Chevrolet Equinox exiting a business driveway at the mentioned address, heading westbound toward Almeda Road.

According to reports, the Equinox failed to yield the right of way as it traversed the train tracks, resulting in a collision with a Union Pacific train traveling northbound.

The 36-year-old male driver of the Equinox was pronounced deceased by responding Houston Fire Department paramedics.
