Intruder Fatally Shot by Woman During Apartment Break-In on Hirsch Road

Houston police are investigating the fatal shooting of a man at an apartment complex located at 6603 Hirsch Road in Trinity/Houston Gardens area around 6:15 p.m. on Sunday, December 15, 2024.

Officers arrived at the scene and found an unresponsive man with gunshot wounds in the stairwell of the apartment building. Houston Fire Department paramedics pronounced him deceased. His identity is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

A woman at the scene identified herself as the shooter. She told officers the man unlawfully entered her apartment, and after a brief confrontation and struggle, she shot him. The woman was not injured.

The Harris County District Attorney’s Office has determined the case will be referred to a grand jury for review. The investigation is ongoing.
