Pedestrian Fatally Struck by Vehicle in Houston Intersection

Houston police are investigating a fatal crash that occurred at 7800 West Fuqua Street around 7:40 p.m. on Friday, December 13, 2024.

A 41-year-old woman was fatally struck by a silver Nissan Sentra after she reportedly walked into the intersection and lay down in the roadway. The driver, a 66-year-old woman, was traveling southbound on Fondren Road and struck the pedestrian while turning left onto West Fuqua.

Houston Fire Department paramedics pronounced the pedestrian deceased at the scene. Her identity is pending verification by the Fort Bend County Medical Examiner’s Office.

The driver remained at the scene, was questioned, and was determined not to be impaired. She was later released.

The investigation into the incident remains ongoing.
