Houston Woman Arrested in South Side Shooting
Charges have been filed against a suspect in connection with a shooting incident that occurred at 3811 Luca Street (South Side) late last Thursday. The suspect, identified as Ashley Nichole Johnson, 38, is facing charges of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, aggravated assault of a family member, and unlawful possession of a weapon by a felon in the 486th State District Court.
The victim, a 35-year-old man, was shot during the incident but is currently in stable condition after being transported to an area hospital.
The Houston Police Department (HPD) responded to a shooting call at the residence on Luca Street and discovered that the victim and Johnson, who were in a dating relationship, had engaged in a physical altercation in the front yard of the residence. A family member of the victim, upon hearing the commotion, went outside to intervene. Subsequently, Johnson retrieved a handgun from her vehicle, shot the victim, and left the scene.
Houston Fire Department paramedics arrived at the location and provided assistance to the victim, transporting him to a nearby hospital for medical treatment.
The following day, Friday, October 27, Johnson voluntarily turned herself in at the HPD South Central Patrol Station without incident. She was subsequently charged for her role in the shooting.
