Houston Police Investigating Apparent Murder-Suicide on Northwest Freeway Service Road

Houston police are investigating the fatal shooting of a man and a woman at 14155 Northwest Freeway (U.S. Highway 290) service road on Monday night as a suspected murder-suicide.
The deceased female victim, in her 20s, and the male suspect, 27, have not yet been formally identified by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
A third victim, a 25-year-old male, was also shot and transported to a local hospital. Medical personnel anticipate that he will survive his injuries.
According to HPD Homicide Division Detectives, officers responded to a shooting call in the parking lot of a strip center at the reported address around 9:25 p.m. They found a deceased female and male with gunshot wounds. Paramedics pronounced both dead at the scene. The wounded male victim was located nearby and taken to a hospital for surgery.
Detectives’ preliminary investigation indicates that the male suspect fatally shot the female victim, wounded her male companion, and then died by apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound. Witnesses reported that the female victim was the suspect’s ex-girlfriend.
