Houston Police Investigate Fatal Shooting on North Sam Houston Parkway East

Authorities are currently investigating a fatal shooting that occurred at 6800 North Sam Houston Parkway East around 8:50 p.m. on Tuesday, January 2, 2024. The victim, a 24-year-old man, has yet to be officially identified pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

Houston Police patrol officers responded to multiple 9-1-1 calls reporting a shooting at the mentioned location. Upon arrival, they discovered a red Chrysler 300 stopped against a barrier on an exit ramp. The victim was found unresponsive in the driver’s seat, having sustained multiple gunshot wounds. Despite the efforts of Houston Fire Department paramedics, the man was pronounced dead at the scene.

Witnesses reported seeing a white pickup truck of unknown make or model fleeing the area. At present, there is no known suspect description or motive for the shooting.
