Houston Police Investigate Fatal Shooting of Food Truck Driver on Gulf Freeway Service Road

ouston police are currently conducting an investigation into the tragic fatal shooting of a man in the early hours of the morning. The incident occurred at approximately 3:45 a.m. today at 8524 Gulf Freeway (South Interstate Highway 45) service road.

The identity of the victim, believed to be in his 20s, is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences. Upon receiving reports of a shooting, HPD patrol officers arrived at a local gas station situated at the aforementioned address. There, they discovered the victim suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. The Houston Fire Department paramedics were also called to the scene, and upon their arrival, they pronounced the victim deceased.

Preliminary investigations have suggested that the victim was the owner of a food truck, and the incident stemmed from an attempted robbery by a male suspect who brandished a firearm. During the robbery attempt, a physical altercation unfolded, resulting in the victim being shot multiple times. Subsequently, the suspect fled on foot in an unknown direction.

The suspect is currently described as a black or Hispanic male who was wearing all black at the time of the incident.
