Houston Police Investigate Fatal Shooting in Alief Area

The Houston Police Department is currently investigating a fatal shooting that occurred on Saturday, February 3, around 5:30 p.m. at 8300 Wilcrest Drive in the Alief area.

The incident resulted in the death of a 26-year-old male and left another male critically wounded.

The identity of the deceased victim is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences. The second male, who sustained gunshot wounds, was promptly transported to an area hospital and is currently in critical condition.

HPD patrol officers responded to a shooting call near the intersection of 8300 Wilcrest Drive, where they discovered both males lying on the sidewalk with gunshot wounds. Houston Fire Department paramedics arrived at the scene and pronounced one of the males deceased, while the other was transported to the hospital for medical attention.

As of now, there is no known motive for the shooting, and the identity of the suspect(s) remains undisclosed.
